Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of HAIR – the rock musical that follows a group of hopeful, free-spirited young people who advocate a lifestyle of pacifism and free-love in a society riddled with intolerance and brutality during the Vietnam War. While 50 years may have passed, many of the issues still remain.
HAIR tells the story of the “tribe”, a group of politically active people, living life in New York City and fighting against the social/political system. Claude, his good friend Berger, their roommate Sheila and their friends struggle to balance their young lives, loves, and the sexual revolution with their rebellion against their conservative parents and society. Ultimately, Claude must decide whether to fight the system, or to succumb to the pressures of his parents (and conservative America).
HAIR is presented by arrangement with TAMS-WITMARK MUSIC LIBRARY, INC. 560 Lexington Avenue, New York, New York 10022
