the (usual) Suspects

Welcome to (usual) Suspects.

WHO ARE WE,

you ask?

We are performers, designers, and artists who have formed our own company after many years of working together both on stage and behind the scenes.

(usual) Suspects are troupe style artists who freely collaborate, explore, and adventure through creative storytelling to challenge ourselves, our audience, and our imaginations.

Erin Brady

Erin Brady

Erin could not be more thrilled to be diving head first into this creative endeavor with some of the most creative and passionate friends on the planet! Erin has been involved with theatre in the area for over 25 years behind the scenes and on the stage. With a cosmetology education from The Aveda Institute Of Chicago she has created with Castmembers at Walt Disney World and designed and styled wigs for years at Starlight Theatre. Some favorite stage roles include Jo March in "Little women", Sally Brown in "your a Good Man Charlie Brown" and Eponine in "Les Meserables." I have a new found respect for the art of storytelling seeing how a show is put together from all aspects, it is a beautiful art that I am greatful to be a part of! Cheers to all those perfecting this amazing art!

Feel free to tweek, I’m not the best writer!

Bob Reaven- Edlén

Bob Reaven- Edlén

Has been in management almost as long as he’s been involved in theater. Two things have been steady in Bob’s life – a passion for live theater and working with people. He has years of experience managing a whole gamut of tasks and teams of people. While he may appear artsy and disheveled, he has a knack for organizing “big pictures” into miniscule steps. In fact, he relishes breaking things down into linear, tiny steps. He is very excited for this opportunity to share his passion with the world by managing (usual) Suspects, and your entertainment/live theater experience.

Christine Edlén-Korneski

Christine Edlén-Korneski

Christine has been performing since the moment she realized there was an audience. First as the star of kitchen and living room whenever her parents‘ guests arrived, then as a student of the Rockford Public Schools Creative and Performing Arts Program, followed by an extended stay on Rock Valley College’s Studio and Starlight stages, and myriad appearances on any stage to which she was invited. When not on stage, she has worked behind the scenes building costumes, selling tickets, and organizing volunteers. To say that she is excited to be a part of this remarkable group of friends and family is an understatement. Since she stepped out from behind her parents‘ giant 1970’s stereo speakers that were the closest things to wings she could get, she has hoped for an opportunity like this. Good theatre requires trust, creative collaboration, and respect. All of these essential qualities are present in (usual) Suspects.

Jason Edlén

Jason Edlén

Jason Edlén is a founding member of (usual) Suspects. A veteran of the Rockford stages, it was his dream to one day start a theater company of his own. With this multi-talented group of friends and performers, that dream has come true. Never happy unless he is creating, Jason holds a BFA in Visual Communications and is currently a Senior Designer with Trekk in Rockford. Which allows him to draw pictures all day.

Nick Korneski

Nick Korneski

Nick is proud to be a part of (usual) Suspects. He has been involved with theatre for the last 20 years as an actor, carpenter, techie, and stage manager. He recently departed Rock Valley College leaving his position of 20 years as Master Carpenter to begin a new career as Technical Director and Scenic Designer for Sunset Playhouse in Milwaukee. (usual) Suspects is the culmination of years of personal and professional relationship building. As always, Nick would like to stress that none of this would be possible without the love and support of his amazing wife, son, and daughter.

Alex McIntyre

Alex McIntyre

Alex Christopher McIntyre has been performing in the Rockford area practically his entire life. As soon as he could talk, he was singing in church and acting in local productions. After high school, he started work at RVC’s Starlight Theatre performing and creating costumes. Over the past decade he has worked with so many amazing individuals in the theatre community. Friendships were started, bonds were made, and (usual) Suspects was formed. He is beyond excited to be starting this journey with such a talented group of people. "I cannot wait for everyone to see what (usual) Suspects have in store!
